Wivenhoe is a town in Essex, England, located on the northern side of the Colne Estuary. It's situated about two miles from the larger town of Colchester, and is home to a population of just over 6,000 people.

The area has a long history, dating back to the Iron Age and including a period of Roman occupation. The current town was largely built after a fire that destroyed most of the town in 1786.
